AWARD OF THE MERITORIOUS SERVICE MEDAL

The Regimental Sergeant Major, Warrant Officer Class 1 J D (Jason) Baillie, was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal in the 2015 Queen’s Birthday Honours List   

For information to receive this award an individual must have "good, faithful, valuable and meritorious service, with conduct judged to be irreproachable throughout". Other ranks must have at least twenty years service, must already hold the Long Service and Good Conduct medal and must have reached the rank of sergeant.

COMMEMORATIVE COVER- BFPS 3183 RAF LEUCHARS HANDOVER TO THE ARMY - 31 MARCH 2015

The British Forces Philatelic Service produce Forces Commemorative Covers to mark special events. Their latest cover marks the Handover of RAF Leuchars to the British Army. are Some of the covers will be signed by the Commanding Officer of the The Royal Scots Dragoon Guards, one of the units who will be moving to this new army base. Please find below the details of a book about the 6th Dragoon Guards (The Carabiniers) during the Indian Mutiny which Major (Retd) Mick Stanley, who served in the Carabiniers and the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards  from 1964-1995, has written.   Major Stanley has kindly allowed members of the Regiment the opportunity to buy the book before it goes on general release.  Details of how to order a copy are here .
