Branch Dinner 5 March 2016 - The Annual Dinner will be held in the Thornton Suite, Ibrox Stadium, Glasgow. This suite is in the main stand at the stadium. 

The cost for the dinner will remain the same as last year at just £25 per head. Forms are available and will be sent out to all who wish to attend. Please email either Ronny Johnston at: happy129@hotmail.com or Billy Bootland at:  billybootland363@hotmail.com Booking forms are to be sent direct to the Branch Treasurer Mr Billy Bootland.  Please fill in meal selection to assist with the catering. Dress: Suit, Blazer or National Dress. Medals may be worn if you wish.

A deal has also been sorted out regarding hotel accommodation. GoUrban, 517 Paisley Road West, Glasgow G51 1RW, Scotland (Formerly Swallow Glasgow) which is the closest hotel to Ibrox, and they have agreed to do rooms for you on the night of the dinner at the reduced rate of £75.00 Bed and Breakfast (reduced from £95.00). The contact name is Susan Brodie and the number is 0141 419 1136. The hotel will hold the rooms until 9 January with no risk to our branch. After that they will release any rooms not booked. Any members wishing to take up this deal have to contact the hotel themselves and tell Susan it is the SCOTS DG Reunion that the rooms are held under.

Branch AGM  Friday 8 April 2016 - The Branch will hold its AGM at a venue in Central Glasgow. Venue and timings still to be confirmed. All appointments (Vice Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer) will be up for re-election at this meeting and the Chairman would like to invite all current incumbents and any suitable candidate who would like to be considered for any of these appointments to apply, in writing, for re-election/election, by Monday 4 April 16. All members of the branch are welcome to attend this meeting.

Armed Forces Day 25 June 2016  –  The 2016 National Event will be held in Cleethorpes, North East Lincolnshire on Saturday 25 June. It is anticipated that Glasgow will hold their annual parade on the same day. Our branch will be attending the Glasgow event. More details on this nearer the time.

Bannockburn 2-4 September 2016 - Yes its back. The gathering will take place at The King Robert Hotel, Bannockburn. Contact has already been made with the hotel and room reservations are being taken. The cost is: £50 Double room, £35 Single room on a B&B basis. A £10 non returnable deposit is taken when booking.

Preliminary details are as follows:

1.       Friday 2 Sept – Golf Championship. Golfers to assemble at Brucefields Golf Centre at Bannockburn at 1030 hrs. £35 per head and will include a roll & coffee/tea, green fees and a two course dinner and presentation. Groupies and fans welcome.

2.       Friday 2 Sept – Evening informal gathering and catch-up. A singer will be the entertainment for the evening, laid on by the hotel.

3.       Saturday 3 Sept – Evening gathering. Entertainment details to be finalised. At this time we have a disco, also laid on by the hotel. Still looking for other entertainment. There will be a buffet on the night at £10 per head.

Remembrance Service 13 November 2016 - It is expected that parade will form up on George Street under the direction of the parade marshal at 1000 hrs prior to marching to marching onto George Square at 1030 hrs. It is highly likely that the service will be followed by a reception in the City Chambers before moving onto the ARK. Dress: Suits, Blazer, Grey Beret and Medals. It is hoped to once again organise a Breakfast on the morning in the Counting House.
